The Cambrian Mountain Lamb Group consists of 14 producers who are part of the Cambrian Mountain Initiative - a project inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales. Lambs are sourced from the beautiful Cambrian Mountain region by Dunbia and is available at selected times throughout the year in The Co-operative food stores nationwide.
The Cambrian Mountain lamb producers adhere to strict brand principles to ensure best practice land management, maintain valuable habitats and eco-systems, and actively encourage vibrant rural communities. All the producers in the Cambrian Mountains Lamb group have had a holistic assessment of their carbon foot print undertaken by Bangor University, which is recognised as one of the most comprehensive studies of carbon foot printing taking into account sequestration rates (the way that carbon is locked up and stored naturally in soils and vegetation such as hedges and woodland). By maintaining these strict animal welfare and environmental standards to produce the lamb, they are able to command a premium for their product.
