Dunbia has given its voice the to the UFU’s call to farmers to complete the Farm Business Improvement Scheme Survey.
Chief Executive, Jim Dobson comments, “As a major stakeholder in the Northern Ireland farming industry, Dunbia recognises the importance of the Farm Business Improvement Scheme (FBIS) as part of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014 - 2020. While up to £250m has been ear-marked by the NI Executive, farmers cannot assumed that this is guaranteed money. DARD must prove to the Department of Finance and Personnel that there is a need for a capital grant scheme and without robust data which the Whole Farm Needs Assessment Survey will provide, they may struggle to do so. The onus is on each and every one of our farmers to complete the survey and return to DARD before the 3rd April deadline. Our industry cannot afford to let this funding slip away.”
