Dunbia has attended international food fair, SIAL PARIS with Invest NI to promote the quality and innovation which Northern Ireland’s agri-food industry offers and to show-case its technical and manufacturing capabilities to a global audience.
“SIAL has been a key event in Dunbia’s calendar for many years as it offers an ideal platform to meet our existing customers, cement long-term relationships and attract new customers,” explains Michael Doran, Dunbia Sales & Marketing Director. “It also offers an excellent showcase for Northern Ireland’s agri-food industry to promote our collective strengths to a world-wide audience.”
During the 5 day exhibition, Dunbia hosted DAERA Minister Michelle McIlveen at a prestigious dinner in the Grand Hôtel Intercontinental in Paris and welcomed the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Andrea Leadsom to the Dunbia trade stand.
“As one of the largest meat processors in the UK, Dunbia is committed to representing the NI agri-food industry at government level and we were delighted to have the opportunity to engage with both Minister McIlveen and Secretary of State Andrea Leadsom during SIAL,” commented Mr Jim Dobson, Dunbia CEO. “As Minister McIlveen pointed out the agri-food sector is a cornerstone of the Northern Ireland economy generating an estimated £4.8billion turnover and representing a quarter of manufacturing exports. We recognise that our industry is facing uncertain times ahead but we have shown our collective strengths at SIAL and will continue to work with all stakeholders including government to ensure a sustainable and profitable future for our industry.”
SIAL PARIS is the largest food show of its kind attracting over 150,000 visitors from retail trade, food service and catering markets across the world. Dunbia currently exports to over 36 countries world-wide with an extensive portfolio of beef, lamb and pork products.
“Dunbia is one of only a few multi-species processors with the capability of producing carcass and vacuum packed primals and a full range of diced, minced and burger products as well as added value and ready to cook convenience meals,” adds Mr Doran. “Innovation is key to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and we have recently invested substantially in our New Product Development Department to ensure that we meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
