DUNBIA NI TEAM UP WITH MARIE CURIE

DUNBIA NI TEAM UP WITH MARIE CURIE 1

Dunbia NI has chosen Marie Curie as its employee nominated charity for 2015/16.

Employees at the company’s Dungannon and Ballymena sites will hold a number of fund-raising events throughout the year with all monies raised donated directly to Marie Curie.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Jim Dobson, Dunbia Chief Executive commented: “Marie Curie was chosen as Dunbia’s nominated charity through an employee vote so we know we have a keen support within the company for the charity.  Our employees have always been very generous when it comes to supporting charitable events or organisations and I am sure this year will be no exception.”

Dunbia employees will organise a number of events throughout the year.  The first will be a “BIG NIGHT IN” which will run through November.

“The idea behind the BIG NIGHT IN is that staff will organise a night in their own homes and invite family, friends or colleagues who will make a donation to Marie Curie,” explains Phil Boyd, Chairman of Dunbia’s Charity Committee.  “We are encouraging as many staff as possible to join in.”

Another major event in the Dunbia fundraising calendar will be the Farmers Ball and Auction which will be held on 23rd January 2016 in Corick House, Clogher.  “Our Farmers Ball was a tremendous success last year raising over £25,000 for charity,” adds Phil.  “Dunbia’s business is at the heart of the farming agriculture which has always been extremely supportive of our charity events.”

Marie Curie provides care and support through terminal illness.  Sandra Spence, Marie Curie’s Community Fundraiser is delighted with Dunbia’s support: “I am absolutely thrilled that Dunbia staff have chosen Marie Curie as their charity for this year.  Our fund raising depends on community support so to have a company the size of Dunbia with over 1,200 employees in Northern Ireland supporting us is tremendous. On behalf of Marie Curie, I would like to thank Dunbia and look forward to a very successful partnership with them.”
