WINNER OF CO-OP HEREFORD TASTE AWARDS ANNOUNCED

The winner of the Co-operative Food Group Hereford Taste award has been revealed as George Graham from Newry

George entered the competition along with 12 members of the Co-op’s Northern Ireland Hereford Foundation Group.  Steaks were judged on raw and cooked appearance, flavour, aroma and tenderness.

The judging panel consisted of the members of the Foundation Group together with Dunbia and Co-op representatives.

Announcing the winner, Kenny Linton, Dunbia Agricultural Manager commented:  “The purpose of the competition was to give our Hereford producers an insight into what drives consumer choice and what consumers look for when they purchase and more importantly repurchase steak. And essentially this is quality, consistency and flavour.”
