An exciting opportunity to join an Engineering Team for a large and progressive Meat Processing plant in West Devon.

Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, providing an opportunity to join a multi-skilled Engineering team as an apprentice Engineer. You will have exposure to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic engineering and learn with a hands-on approach. Exposure will also be given to control and environmental systems. You will join a small and dynamic, hands on maintenance/ engineering team who can be involved in anything from preventative maintenance, to urgent reactive maintenance for site needs.

 

Creativity and innovation is encouraged within the industry as often engineering solutions can be tailor made and bespoke to our workplace. You must be able to follow instruction and be a responsible individual.

The successful applicant must be a good team player, enthusiastic to learn and be able to take instruction and use feedback to progress and improve and must have the following:

  • Minimum of 3 GCSE’s or equivalent (this includes A-C in Maths and English)
  • Driving licence essential

 

A practical and logical approach to problem solving, a mechanical aptitude and interest for repairing cycles, working on cars etc are desirable.

 

The apprenticeship programme will include weekly attendance at Exeter College and applicants will be assessed for suitability by the college prior to starting.
